The Story of Tiffany

Louis Comfort Tiffany, began his career in the 1860s as a painter before discovering the art and beauty of glass-working. He employed this medium to great effect in his work, combining the use of light, color and nature. During a tour of Europe, he studied medieval designs and the stained glass of Gothic churches, as well as taking the opportunity to see the Art Nouveau movement first-hand. Tiffany brought his experiences back the United States where he combined elements of these styles with the free-flowing images of nature he was used to painting. Tiffany's greatest innovation was realizing these aesthetic developments in his famous lamps, allowing the common people to enjoy a piece of art and beauty in the comfort of their own homes. His lamps quickly became popular at home and abroad. His expert craftsmen soldered tiny pieces of glass into natural patterns featuring flowers, butterflies, or dragonflies, while the elegant bronze bases shone warmly beneath their leaded shades. While original Tiffany lamps can sell for thousands of dollars today, modern artists and manufacturers continue keep Tiffany style alive and accessible. Here at Jack's Curated Finds, we share in Louis Tiffany's original vision, and we want you to enjoy these functional works of art in your home. We ensure the quality of our handcrafted lamps and deliver to all 50 states with free shipping.
